New breeders make history with embryo export to the USA  Relative new breeders Mr Andrew Hughes & Ms Anita Gilson (pictured left) from Cullompton, Devon have exported 13 embryos to Ron Jarell from West Virginia, United States of America.
Eight of the embryos were flushed from Llancillo Hall Beauty 17th (below left), a full sister to successful young bull Binnegar Winston and five from 2006 & 2009 Horned Female of the Year Llancillo Hall Hazel 20th (pictured below right).

Ron saw the two cows whilst visiting last years Three Counties Show in Malvern, where he picked out our cattle from a strong line-up of females, said Anita. "Ron then contacted us in the September and asked us if we would flush the 2 cows, to which we agreed" Anita added.
The embryos were dispatched recently by Sheila Eggleston of Eggsport, Hexham. Anita went on to say, "We must thank Sheila for completing all the paperwork and logistics so efficiently, the export went very smoothly.

We are delighted to have completed the export from our herd of Binnegar Herefords and for the Hereford Breed in general. Mr Jarell has invited Andrew and I to West Virginia to see the resulting calves on the ground in 2011, and hopes to get one good enough to show in the future".

Penguin Aberdeen Angus to form beginnings of new herd in Italy.

A consignment of Aberdeen-Angus heifers and a yearling bull from Shropshire-based Bob Lane's Penguin herd are on their way to Italy to fulfill an export order worth £25,000.

The cattle were bought by Eggs-Port and sold to establish the new herd.  Purchaser Ms D'Antonio said "The Aberdeen-Angus breed is incredibly popular in Italy.  The area is hilly, cold in the winter, with a mild spring and summer so we need a breed that thrives well under those conditions.  It's also a great opportunity to start a herd with some of the breed's best genetics."

These cattle originate from some of the most famous female lines in the breed,  The consignment includes yearling heifers from the Penguin Jestress, Tidy Bee, Lady Hether and Evening Tinge families.  The young bull, Penguin Express J377 is a son of DMM Posi-Traction out of DMM Miss Essence 12N - the result of an imported embryo.  Mr Lane has previously produced many top priced cattle and is a past president of the Aberdeen Angus society.  He will be visiting Italy later in the summer to oversee development of the new herd.

From the Eggs-Port office we see demand for Aberdeen Angus cattle and genetics continuing to grow and this breed  forms a major part of our export work, be it live cattle, semen or embryos.  The genetics in this consignment will no doubt form the basis of a great herd in Italy.

Limousin Embryos Exported to Norway

 Emslies Allheart

In a continuation of the export demand for British Limousin genetics, high health status embryos from the Emslies pedigree Limousin herd have been exported to Norway.

The five embryos from Harry Emslie’s herd, Kinknockie, Mintlaw, Peterhead, Aberdeen, are by the powerful French sire President out of Emslies Allheart, a Sympa daughter out of one of the herd’s foundation females, Heathlands Sweetheart. They were bought by pedigree breeder Thor Skaget.

The shipment has been handled by Sheila Eggleston of Eggsport who says: “This is an exciting time for Limousin genetics. Norway has incredibly tight animal health status regulations so exporting embryos to this country is a significant achievement for Harry Emslie and the Limousin breed.”

Previous embryo sales from the herd have included a consignment sent to Australia.
